Metamorphosis

I sit in this corner of comfort in a room seemingly endless in size.
Don't worry, it's not that I'm running away or trying to hide,
I just needed a moment to gather my thoughts and write,
Scribble all the things you needed to hear tonight... All your life.

I can't help but shut out the mesmeric noise that surrounds me,
I create a simple solitary crease and fold myself within,
You stand five meters away hypnotized by the room,
Little did you know my thoughts were solely on you.

You, why would you worry about what this life dishes out?
You're better than the actions you're force to doubt.
Who you are, is sadly more than you'll ever be able to see.
You're an absolutely asymmetrically enchanting showpiece.

You're a fool's gold, a superb secret untold.
You're a beauty so bold, waiting to unfold.

So what if the tired, terrible world has broken you down?
So what if he's scattered your pieces all about town?
I swear love will gather up the shattered you from the ground,
I swear to you that one day you'll be found,
You'll be reassembled, reconstructed and forever bound.

I only wish I could show you what I see.
The heart, the strength in every fraction your beauty.
But for now I hope you can just trust me.
That one day someone will tell you these lines of poetry.

"Butterfly, I don't love you because you're beautiful.
You're beautiful because I love you.
Butterfly, never again should be doubtful.
I love you, I love you, I love you."
